Step into the Sorcerer’s Studio where kids study the art of illusion.
Day One will explore the history of magic, from its earliest roots in ancient Egypt to the modern illusionists who share their craft through live performance, YouTube, movies, and television. Students will discuss how illusion has evolved over time and learn the basics of magic, including the different types of tricks and how they work.
On Day Two, the focus shifts to performance skills such as patter and delivery, along with the art of misdirection, persuasion, and storytelling. Students will experiment with turning everyday household items into magical props and learn one new, larger trick to add to their repertoire.
Day Three is all about practice and preparation. Students will refine their tricks, develop presentation plans, decide what props they’ll use, and even choose their own performance name as they get ready for their final showcase.
Day Four is Presentation Day! Students will begin with a full run-through before stepping into the spotlight to perform their magic for the class.
