Do you have your basics in clay down and now looking to advance your skills and take your ideas and projects to the next level? Miss Ruthie will teach students the basics of sculpting with clay. Students will learn different sculpting techniques working from photo references or imagination; how to use a variety of clay tools; how to apply different finishes to clay surfaces; and gain an understanding of clay and its properties. Each student will make several projects throughout this 6-week course, and will glaze as we go. Students are encouraged to bring along their ideas for projects, and notebooks/sketchbooks for note taking and sketching out ideas. Notebooks/sketchbooks are not required, the MAC has plenty of paper to use for these purposes.
