Miss Ruthie will teach students how to create a set of ceramic tic-tac-toe pieces. A nice addition to travel with during the Memorial Day weekend! This is an opportunity to make a classic game into a custom piece of art made for just you. Start thinking of all your favorite dynamic duos; peas and carrots, bacon and eggs, toast and butter, stars and moons…the sky is the limit! Make them as simple or as detailed as you’d like. Students will learn simple hand-sculpting, stamping, and carving techniques, how to use a variety of clay tools, and gain an understanding of clay and its properties. Each student will make one mini tic-tac-toe set, and glaze it that night to be ready for a once-firing process.Then we will paint/decorate our drawstring bag into the game board. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to the class and relax while making art.
