Miss Ruthie will teach students how to create a ceramic garlic/ginger grater plate. A nice addition to any kitchen, or that one-of-a-kind home chef! This is an opportunity to make an everyday household item into a custom piece of art made for just your space. Students will learn simple slab and carving techniques, how to use a variety of clay tools, and gain an understanding of clay and its properties. Each student will make as many small grater plates as class time allows, and glaze that night to be ready for a once-firing process. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to the class and relax while making art.
