Miss Ruthie will teach students how to create a ceramic, hanging picture frame. Come create an adorable gift for your valentine (whoever that may be - your best friend, sister, parent), or ask them to take the class along with you so they can make one too! Students will learn simple slab, underglaze, and texturing techniques, how to use a variety of clay tools, and gain an understanding of clay and its properties. Each student will make one ceramic hanging frame, and glaze and decorate that night to be ready for a once-firing process. Students will take home ribbon or twine to attach after the piece is fired. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to the class and relax while making art.
