Have you wanted to try a new medium, but are afraid to invest in new materials? Just can’t get your brush to do what you want it to do? Trying to learn new brush strokes or new techniques to better represent your artistic vision? Here’s a chance to practice without the commitment. Come hang out with Miss Ruthie and experiment, play, and practice your watercolor brush strokes and techniques. Each student will get a large sheet of watercolor paper for your experiments and practice. If you have your own supplies and materials you’d like to practice with, bring them along! This session will start with some discussion of watercolor brush techniques and exercises together. The rest of the class will be open to practice on your own. Students will leave with the knowledge they gain through playing and experimentation, which most of us don’t really make the time to do. This class is also great in combination with the Watercolor Practice: Washes on 6/12, but can definitely be taken alone.  Students are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, or whatever else needed to help you get comfortable and relaxed while making art.
