With clay students will learn how to construct birdhouses, by using a soft slab construction technique. Students will begin by rolling out slabs of clay. They then will be able to add stamps or any texture they like to the slab. After the textures have been applied, students will use a stencil to cut out their shapes to piece together their birdhouse. I will demonstrate how to connect and seal the seams and voila! They have their own hand-built birdhouse!
