We will be studying Pointillism & Neo-Impressionism, with a focus on artists like Georges Seurat who made large pictures out of dots. Using various mediums, we'll create multiple Pointillism art pieces throughout the course of this class.
Day 1: See how dots can make shapes! Make color wheels with glass dots and create a glass pointillism color wheel. We will also start a faux stained glass project.
Day 2: Looking at Divisionism, another style close to pointillism - Glass: Faux Stained Glass "Divisionism" • Inspired by the vibrant light of stained glass, this project mimics the high-contrast borders and luminous colors of artists like Paul Signac.
Day 3: Clay: "Dot-by-Dot" 3D Relief This project uses Neo-Impressionist principles with a tactile, 3D medium.
Day 4: Nature & Rocks: Painted Pebble Pointillism • Applying modern art concepts to natural, 3D found objects.
