Musings Of An Introvert

Featured artist: Steph Wilderman

opening reception: saturday, September 5th | 2pm-4pm

Musings Of An Introvert (Steph’s first ever gallery show!) is a collection of artwork exploring the little worlds we build within ourselves. The memories we keep. The places we imagine. The small moments that shape who we are.

This collection celebrates curiosity, nostalgia, and the beauty found in moments of introspection.

Each piece is a small reflection of an inner conversation: playful, thoughtful, colorful, sometimes imperfect, but always full of feeling. It’s a glimpse into the quiet places where creativity lives.

Artist statement:

“I've always been fascinated by ordinary things.

The way afternoon light settles into a room. A stranger you’ll probably never meet again. The kind of quiet only fog knows. small moments that provoke thoughtful questions that appear for no reason at all and refuse to leave.

For a long time, I assumed those thoughts belonged only to me. The older I get, though, the more I wonder if they're simply part of being human. Maybe we've all stood at a window looking at the moon, quietly imagining who else might be looking too. Maybe we've all carried memories we couldn't quite explain, searched for pieces of ourselves in books or songs, or found that the moments that seemed insignificant at the time became the ones we held onto most tightly.

Musings of an Introvert is made up of those quiet observations. Bits of wondering. Fragments of internal conversations. Some are hopeful. Some are melancholy. Some simply ask us to pause long enough to notice what is usually overlooked.

If these artworks do anything, I hope they create a moment of recognition, not necessarily between the artwork and the viewer, but between people themselves. A conversation. A shared memory. The quiet relief of realizing someone else has wondered the same thing. The feeling of hearing someone else put words to a thought you've never spoken aloud.

Perhaps that’s all art really is.

A reminder that none of us are standing at the window alone.”
