Batik Techniques

Students will learn to apply a hot wax resist to fabric surface then paint with dye to create unique textures and painted images on fabric.
Wet Felted Bird Houses

Ages : 12+
Join us to learn about the wet felting. Beginners are welcome to attend the class and learn the basics of using wool roving and warm soapy water to create beautiful wool felt. We will mold this felt into the shape of a birdhouse that will last many years outside. Bring your favorite piece of driftwood to create a unique handle to hang on the house.
Macrame Plant Hangers

ages 16+
Learn simple macrame knots and turn them into a custom plant hanger that fits your style and space.
Teresa will be teaching a class on the art of knot making. Using macrame cord and found sticks we will go through some knots to create beautiful hanging plant holders. The knot that will be covered in the class will be a half hitch knots. Adding beads is optional.
No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and love for handmade things.
Create and Chill: Friendship/Love Bracelets for Adults

Looking for something new to do for Valentine’s Day? Not a fan of the holiday, but want to spend some time with your besties? Just want to feel like a kid again?!
Miss Ruthie will teach students how to make square knot friendship bracelets. Students will learn simple macrame techniques, how to embellish their bracelets with beads, and how to slow down for just a little while to create for your inner child. Each student will make one bracelet. Students are encouraged to sign up in pairs so you can work alongside your loved one as you make for each other; be that your spouse/partner, your bestie, your parent(s), or your sibling(s). This class is all about creating with love to show your love. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to the class and relax while making art.
Tie Dye Hearts
2 hours @ $50
Age: 12+
Ms. Bonnie will teach students how to mix fiber reactive dyes, prep fabric or garments for dyeing, and how to fold simple patterns like hearts, spirals, spiders, and geodes. Learn how to rinse out dye so colors remain bright.
Bring your own items from home that are 100% cotton and prewashed.

Learn the fascinating art of indigo dyeing! In this workshop, we'll explore indigo from many angles.
What is indigo? It's an ancient dyeing technique that typically involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it in indigo. Whatever is used to bind the fabric will resist the dye, resulting in areas of the cloth that take the distinctive blue dye.

Make a Messenger Bag
4 hours @ $50.00
Students will learn to sew a messenger bag from scratch. Students will be provided with a pattern, learn to cut out the pieces from fabric, and sew the bag together during this all day long class (Class will have a 1 hour break for lunch). Some sewing experience is helpful but not a requirement. Students may bring their own fabric of use fabric available from the MAC. The bag requires 1 yard of a medium weight fabric for the outside and 1 yard of a light weight fabric for the lining.
